Hi! My name is Ellice, and I want to thank you for taking the time to read more about me and my clinical process. Finding a therapist can be a daunting process, but my hope is to ease the process by telling you a little about myself. I am a second-generation Korean American born and raised in Southern California. I am passionate about providing mental health services that attend to cultural nuances, emphasize holistic well-being, and reduce stigma associated with seeking mental health care.
My ultimate goal is to help foster positive change in the different areas of your life. To do this, I incorporate evidence-based treatments and work collaboratively with you throughout the therapy process while being mindful and respectful of your unique set of values, history, culture, and context to best serve your needs and goals. Generally, I do my best to address your distress and functioning through an integrative approach that incorporates aspects of interpersonal therapy (IPT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) while being encapsulated by systems theory.
This approach provides me with a framework for understanding your multifaceted concerns and encouraging positive change and growth.
I specialize in working with individuals struggling with/navigating depression, anxiety, identity development (e.g., bicultural identity, racial identity, gender identity, generation status, etc.), life transitions, grief/loss, interpersonal functioning, and intergenerational trauma.
In my free time, I like to spend time with my loved ones, read, do puzzles, play video/board games, and try new food & dessert places. I also aspire to be a crafty human so I like to try a lot of new art/craft hobbies that I hope to be really good at one day.
